An important way to ensure you are creating and maintaining your mental health is by loving yourself. Loving yourself can show up in a variety of ways for many people. There are many things you can do to show yourself some love. It doesn't just have to be expressed in the mundane things of the world. A lot of people, including myself built the thought process of believing showing yourself love includes buying yourself things or fixing up the exterior, but it's really more than that. Personally, I've become very critical of my own faults and looked at myself negatively based on cultural practices, mistakes I've made and family expectations. I've come to realize through out my journey, I have become my own worst critic. A very unhealthy way to treat oneself. I had to learn the hardest way possible to unlearn the very things I grew up believing about myself. It's important to take baby steps in your mental health journey and not to rush things. Everything and anything worth while, takes time to shine.

Think about the process in which a diamond is formed. Only under extensive pressure it births itself whole and renewed into a shiny, glamorous and valuable stone.

Here we will express seven things you can do for yourself that can create and maintain positive mental health.

TIP ONE: Vision Board

Creating a vision board is a great way to helping yourself envision all the things you would like to accomplish. Visually seeing the things you would love to attain for yourself on a daily basis is a simple reminder of staying committed to your journey. This encourages all your ongoing steps to be intentional steps, carrying you closer to attaining that specific goal.

Often life's unpredictable cycle can steer us away from our main goals and values. Visually seeing your goals each day can help bring you back to focus.

TIP TWO: Daily Intentions/Affirmations

Another great way of showing yourself love is by doing mirror work. Mirror work is a simple exercise of facing yourself in isolation.
